A series of solution chlorinated atactic polypropylenes with chlorine content in the region 0 to 64% by wt is investigated. The chlorination behaviour can be followed by investigating the course of mole fractions of all unchlorinated and chlorinated groups in dependence on α∑ and the degrees of chlorination of the different groups α(CH), α(CH2), α(CH3), resp. Further, calculated composition curves according to the Bernoulli model of the substitution statistic were considered. Hence it follows, that chlorination of the (—CH2—)-groups seems to be randomly. For the (—CH3)-groups there is a hindring of the further chlorination at the same C-atom by an already existing chlorine atom. The reactivity ratio of the (C—H)-bonds for the different groups is determined as p̄(CH):p̄(CH2):p̄(CH3) = 3,1:1,9:1.
Notizen:
