Abstract We report single crystal magnetoresistivity measurements of the organic superconductor κ-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(NCS)2 in magnetic fields applied perpendicularly to the superconducting planes. We present an analysis of the behavior of the resistivity in the vortex liquid phase. It turns out, that at high temperatures and sufficiently low fields the vortex liquid phase can be described as a very viscous vortex liquid of 3D vortices with activation energies arising from generations of vortex-doublekinks. Quantitatively a value of the superconducting anisotropy parameter γ = ξab/ξc ≈ 80 can be derived from the measurements presented here.
