Chelates of 8-Quinolinol Derivatives. XI. Properties and Structure of Nickel Chelates with Alkyl-substituted 8-Quinolinols and 8-QuinolinthiolsThe nickel complexes of 2, 7-dimethyl-8-quinolinol as well as 3-isopropyl-4-methyl-8-quinolinol and -thiol were synthesized. From the spectroscopic and magnetic data the existence of a tetrahedral structure is concluded for the first complex but a square-planar one for the latter both. To characterize the 8-quinolinols complex stability constants for nickel and zinc are used. For the hydrated nickel chelates of different 8-quinolinols or -thiols the temperature regions of dehydration and the thermic decomposition were determined.

Es wurden die Nickelkomplexe von 2, 7-Dimethyl-chinolin-8-ol sowie 3-Isopropyl-4-methyl-chinolin-8-ol bzw. -thiol in wasserfreier Form dargestellt. Aus den spektroskopischen und magnetochemischen Daten wird für den ersteren Komplex auf das Vorliegen einer tetraedrischen, für die beiden letzteren auf planar-quadratische Strukturen mit geringer Assoziation geschlossen. Zur Charakterisierung der dargestellten Chinolin-8-ole dienen die Stabilitätskonstanten der Nickel- und Zinkkomplexe. Für die Hydrate der Nickelchelate ausgewählter Chinolin-8-ole bzw. -thiole wurden mit Hilfe thermoanalytischer Untersuchungen die Temperaturbereiche der Dehydratisierung und der thermischen Zersetzung ermittelt.
