Zusammenfassung An der II. Chirurgischen Abteilung des AK Harburg wurden in 5 Jahren (1981–1985) 263 Patienten mit einem infrarenalen Bauchaortenaneurysma operiert. Im vorliegenden Film werden die Diagnostik beim Bauchaortenaneurysma, die Untersuchungstechnik und -taktik beim Hausarzt und in der Klinik vorgestellt sowie die Operation zweier Aneurysmen gezeigt. Postoperative Probleme, Risikofaktoren und Kontraindikationen zur Operation werden diskutiert.

Summary At the 2nd Surgical Department of the Harburg General Hospital in Hamburg, Germany, 263 patients with infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms were operated on during a 5-year period from 1981 to 1985. The film demonstrates diagnostic procedures and evaluation techniques, as employed by the family physician and the clinician. Moreover, operations for two abdominal aneurysms are shown. Postoperative problems, risk factors, and contraindications against operative procedures are discussed.
