Abstract The successful treatment of a patient who developed the TUR syndrome is described. Glycine 2.2% in water was used as irrigating fluid. Initial symptoms were visual disturbances and hypertension. Repeated blood chemistry analyses revealed elevations in the serum concentrations of most non-essential amino acids. Later on the patient experienced vivid hallucinations.
