In this paper, the resonance Raman spectrum of ClO2 in solution, which cannot be quantitatively interpreted within the usual approximations, is described using a Morse function for the nuclear potentials in the lower and upper states. The absorptionspectrum and the Raman excitation profiles are calculated and compared with the experimental results. The study of the depolarization ratio show, a result which cannot be obtained by consideration of the relative intensities.
