Notes:
Summary Ultrasound examination disclosed abnormal intracranial solid and cystic structures in a 31-week fetus during a gestation complicated by polyhydramnios, maternal edema and dyspnea. As the ultrasound appearance suggested the infant was nonviable the fetal skull was destroyed during cesarian section to ease delivery. At necropsy a teratoma was found replacing all the brain.
