Notes:
Summary Immediately after intravenous injection of 0.05 µCi14C-bilirubin, a continuous infusion of 62.5 mg/h (dose I,n=7), 312.5 mg/h (dose II,n=5) and 625 mg/h (dose III, n=6) unconjugated bilirubin was given for 4 hours. Half-timeH 1 andH 2 of bilirubin uptake and conjugation were determined and compared with a control group without infusion (n=15).H 1 shows slight elevation at dose I, II and III; there are no significant differences between these doses. A significant depression ofH 2 is observed at doeses II and III. After 120 min (doses I and II) and 180 min (dose III), serumbilirubin concentration reached a maximum (highest concentration at dose III 12.6%). No significant change in concentration occurred later on.
