Abstract Isomerization kinetics is studied on a one-dimensional ideal gas model with deterministic transitions. The concentrations of species are found to satisfy the phenomenological rate laws appropriate for diffusion-controlled kinetics, and the various correlations are determined. In the long-time regime, higher correlations present long tails reflecting a strongly non-Markovian evolution.
