    Beschreibung / Inhaltsverzeichnis: Vibrational Spectra and Force-Constants of Some Phosphine-BoranesThe IR und Raman spectra of Ph3P—BH3, Ph3P—BD3, and (C6D5)3P—BH3 were recorded. A normal-coordinate analysis has been carried out, using a simplified model of the phenyl group. With the aid of published spectra, a vibrational analysis of F3PBH3 and H3PBH3 has been performed, using 10B - 11B-isotopic-shift data. A linear relationship between the 31P - 11B-N.M.R. coupling constant and the PB-valence-force constant has been found.
    Notizen: Die IR- und Raman-Spektren von Ph3P—BH3, Ph3P—BD3 und (C6D5)3P—BH3 wurden aufgenommen und eine Normalkoordinatenanylse mit einem vereinfachten Phenylmodell durchgeführt. Unter Verwendung der Literaturspektren wurden Schwingungsberechnungen an F3PBH3 und H3PBH3 miteinbezogen, wobei auch 10B - 11B-Isotopenverschiebungen berücksichtigt wurden. Es ergibt sich ein linearer Zusammenhang zwischen der Kopplungskonstante J(31P - 11B) und der PB-Valenzkraftkonstante.

Their IR and Raman spectra are discussed with the aid of a normal coordinate analysis. The spectra of the cyclic iodosilanes Si4I8, Si5I10, and Si6I12, prepared previously [1], are included in the discussion.
    Notizen: Die Spaltung von Oktaphenylcyclotetrasilan und Dekaphenylcyclopentasilan mit Iod, Phosphorpentabromid oder Brom und anschließende Umsetzung mit HBr/AlBr3 bzw. HI/AlI3 erlaubt die Darstellung der bisher unbekannten Halogensilane n-Si4Br10, n-Si4I10, n-Si5Br12 und n-Si5I12. Ihre IR- und Raman-Spektren werden mit Hilfe einer Normalkoordinatenanalyse diskutiert. Jene der kürzlich dargestellten [1] cyclischen Iodsilane Si4I8, Si5I10 und Si6I12 werden mit einbezogen.

    Beschreibung / Inhaltsverzeichnis: Vibrational Spectra and Normal-coordinate Analysis of DiphosphanesThe i.r. and Raman spectra of Ph2PPPH2, (C6D5))2PP(C6D5)2, PhBrPPBrPh, PhJPPJPh, and J2PPJ2 were recorded. A normal-coordinate analysis using a three-mass model of the phenyl group was carried out, including the molecules P2F4 [1], P2Cl4 [2], and P2(CH3)4 [3]. Published spectra of these molecules have been used. The influence of the substituents on the PP stretching force constant has been studied. The arrangement of the substituents according to their effect on the PP force constant leads to a series different from that found in the corresponding disilanes [4].
    Notizen: Die IR- und Raman-Spektren von Ph2PPPH2, (C6D5)2PP(C6D5)2, PhBrPPBrPh, PhJPPJPh und P2J4 wurden aufgenommen und Normalkoordinatenanalysen mittels eines Dreimassen-Phenylmodells durchgeführt. Mit Hilfe der Literaturspektren wurden Schwingungsberechnungen an P2F4 [1], P2Cl4 [2] und P2(CH34 [3] vorgenommen. Der Einfluß der Substituenten auf die Phosphor-Phosphor-Kraftkonstante konnte so an einer größeren Anzahl von Verbindungen untersucht werden. Die Reihung der Substituenten nach ihrem Einfluß auf die PP-Kraftkonstante unterscheidet sich von jener der Disilane [4].

The crystal structure of 2 was determined.
    Notizen: Dicyclopentadienyl- und Diindenylmetalldichloride des Typs Cp′—Me2Si—Me2Si—Cp′MCl2(Cp′ = C5H4; M = Ti(1), Zr (2), Hf (3); Cp′ = C9H7; M = Zr (4), Hf (5)) wurden synthetisiert und mittels ihrer 1H-, 13C- und 29Si-NMR-Spektren sowie MS- und IR-Spektren charakterisiert. Die Kristallstruktur von 2 wurde ermittelt.

    Notizen: The surface tensions, wetting tensions, contact angles and solid/liquid interfacial tensions of defined siloxanes as well as those of analogous carbosilanes, polysilanes and neopentyl substituted silanes were determined. The wetting experiments were carried out on a glass plate coated with perfluoroalkyl methacrylate (FC 722®). The siloxanes possess the lowest surface tensions. Due to the presence of oxygen atoms in the siloxane backbone, a donor-acceptor portion (γ+/-lv) of the surface tension of about 1-2 mN/m was determined. The solid/liquid interfacial tension also contains a donor-acceptor portion (γ+/-sl). Its value is almost identical to that of γ+/-lv. The γ+/-sl differences between individual molecules of the same surface tension are responsible for contact angle differences of up to 4°. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
