    Notes: A new hybrid mass spectrometer of BEQiQu geometry (B, magnetic sector; E, Electric sector; Qi, quistor; Qu, quadrupole mass filter) is described. The high resolution stage (BE) is coupled to a quistor via a series of deceleration lenses, and this is followed by a mass-analysing quadrupole. This configuration enables the storing of ions, investigation of their gas-phase chemistry and the subsequent identification of the resulting fragment or product ions.

    Notes: A simple and efficient deceleration system for the coupling of magnetic and electric sector instruments to quadrupole analyzers is described. The trasnsmission efficiency of the system appears to be at least 80% or better as the ions are decelerated from 3 ke V to 30 eV (a deceleration factor of 1:100). No mass discrimination was observed in the range up to mass 1000.

    Notes: Durch Reduktion von Dibenzoyl-L-histidinmethylester mit LiAlH4 wurden Monobenzoyl-L-histidinol und aus letzterem durch Verseifung L-Histidinol hergestellt. Letztere Verbindung zeigt ähnliche pharmakologische Wirkung wie Histamin, aber erst in 1000-3000 mal höherer Dosis.
