Notizen: Summary Isolated microspores ofTulipa gesneriana, were cultured through the mitotic cycle. Microspore division was polar and formed typical pollen grains showing a generative-within-vegetative cell arrangement. The normal development of microspores was inhibited by colcemid, which produced frequently anomalous pollen with two nuclei similar in structure and staining properties. Colcemid seems to interfere with the nuclear differentiation by preventing the asymmetric division at the mitotic phase. After subsequent culture both anomalous and typical pollen developed a pollen tube.
