Notes: Both the first-order second moment method and the Monte-Carlo method are introduced to elastic-viscoplastic block theory in this paper. The safety index of blocks, block combinations and the whole rock-block system can be obtained by establishing adequate limit state equation. Some slope safety problems have been studied with the proposed methods.
