Zusammenfassung Mittels graphischer Darstellungen werden in schematischer Form zunächst die für denorganischen Hyperinsulinismus verantwortlichen pathologisch-anatomischen Veränderungen sowie ihre funktionellen Auswirkungen erläutert. Der Beschreibung verschiedenartiger klinischer Erscheinungsbilder und der für die diagnostische Sicherung maßgeblichen Untersuchungsverfahren folgt die Wiedergabe von 3 charakteristischen Operationsverläufen. Darin wird das unterschiedliche Vorgehen derselektiven Exstirpation eines Inselzelladenoms nach voraufgegangener arteriographischer Lokalisation und der partiellen Pankreasresektion im Falle okkulter Adenome bzw. einer diffusen beta-Zellhyperplasie veranschaulicht.

Summary The first part of the film illustrates the pathology, clinical manifestations and diagnosis oforganic hyperinsulism by means of diagrams and drawings. The second part shows the course of surgery in three typical cases, with the different technical approaches for selective removal of anislet-cell adenoma from the body and tail of the pancreas, respectively, and for subtotal resection of the gland for occult adenoma orprimary islet-cell hyperplasia.
