    Description / Table of Contents: Oxometallates with Beryllium. II. About Be4Pr9O20High temperature reactions yield single crystals of the new compound Be4Pr9O20. X-ray investigations show orthorhombic symmetry (space group C2v9—Pna21; a = 954.1, b = 655.7, c = 722.7 pm). Structure and coordination of Be++ and Pr3+/4+ are discussed in respect to the chemical composition.
    Notes: Hochtemperaturreaktionen führen zu Einkristallen der noch unbekannten Verbindung Be4Pr9O20. Röntgenuntersuchungen ergaben orthorhombische Symmetrie (Raumgruppe C2V9—Pna21; a = 954,1, b = 655,7, c = 722,7 pm). Struktur und Koordination von Be++ und Pr3+/4+ werden in Verbindung mit der Zusammensetzung ausführlich diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: About Oxocuprates. XV. The Crystal Structure of Rare Earth Oxocuprates: La2CuO4, Gd2CuO4Gd2CuO4 and La2CuO4 are examined by single crystal X-ray methods. Gd2CuO4 is isotypic with Nd2CuO4, La2CuO4 however shows a slightly distorted K2NiF4 structure. Cu2+ has square (Gd2CuO4) or octahedral (La2CuO4) coordination. La2CuO4 is the only compound in the system of Rare Earth cuprates with K2NiF4-type structure.
    Notes: Gd2CuO4 und La2CuO4 wurden mit Röntgenmethoden an Einkristallen untersucht. Gd2CuO4 ist mit Nd2CuO4 isotyp, während La2CuO4 eine verzerrte K2NiF4-Struktur besitzt. Cu2+ ist quadratisch planar (Gd2CuO4) bzw. oktaedrisch (La2CuO4) von O2- koordiniert. La2CuO4 ist bisher das einzige Beispiel aus der Reihe der Seltenerdmetalloxocuprate mit K2NiF4 analogem Aufbau.
