Abstract Pyogenic liver abscess is a rare complication of ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunting. We report a 4-month-old female with this complication who was successfully treat ed by computed tomography-guided percutaneous transhepatic catheter drainage, shunt externalization, and parenteral antibiotics. Liver abscess is a possible intra-abdominal complication of VP shunting, and imaging studies are good adjuncts in making the clinical diagnosis.
