    Description / Table of Contents: Complexes of Vanadium and Titanium with 2,2′-Dihydroxyazobenzene. Crystal Structure of 2,2′-Dihydroxybenzenato(2-)-oxo-methoxo-methanol-vanadium(V) and μ-Oxo-bis[2,2′-dihydroxyazobenzenato(2-)-oxo-vanadium(V)]By the reaction of 2,2-dihydroxyazobenzene with titanium(IV) the expected compound bis [2,2′-dihydroxybenzenato(2-)-titanium(IV)] was obtained. On the other hand in the dependence on the experimental conditions vanadium forms further compounds beside the bisligand complex. They were characterized by mass spectrometry resp. X-ray structural analysis. Crystallographic data see „Inhaltsübersicht“.
    Notes: Bei der Reaktion von 2,2′-Dihydroxyazobenzen mit Titan(IV)-isopropoxid wird erwartungsgemäß Bis[2,2′-dihydroxyazobenzenato(2-)]-titan(IV) erhalten. Vanadium bildet dagegen in Abhängigkeit von den Versuchsbedingungen neben dem Bis-Ligand-Komplex weitere Verbindungen, die massenspektrometrisch bzw. durch Röntgenkristallstrukturanalyse charakterisiert wurden.2,2′-Dihydroxyazobenzenato(2-)-oxo-methoxo-methanol-vanadium(V) Raumgruppe P21/c Z = 4, 1 561 beobachtete unabhängige Reflexe, R = 3,9%. Gitterabmessungen bei 25°C: a = 1 037,6(3) pm; b = 929,6(4) pm; c = 1 637,1(4) pm, μ = 99,66(3)°; μ-Oxo-bis[2,2′-dihydroxyazobenzenato(2-)-oxo-vanadium(V)]. Raumgruppe Pbcn, Z = 4, 1 489 beobachtete unabhängige Reflexe, R = 4,3%. Gitterabmessungen bei 25°C: a = 739,2(1) pm; b = 2 429,2(2) pm, c = 1 287,4(6) pm.

    Notes: Als Reaktionsprodukt der Umsetzung von Bis(acetylacetonato)-dioxo-molybdän(VI) mit Benzoylhydrazin in Gegenwart von Triphenylphosphan wurde Benzoylhydrazido-(2-)-acetylacetonbenzoylhydrazonato(2-)-oxo-molybdän(VI) neben einem weiteren Molybdänkomplex erhalten und massenspektrometrisch sowie röntgenkristallstrukturanalytisch charakterisiert. (Raumgruppe Cc, Z = 4, 2 020 beobachtete Reflexe, R = 3,7%. Gitterabmessungen bei 19°C: a = 1 188,5(2) pm, b = 2 110,2(2) pm, c = 813,2(2) pm, β = 105,77(2)°).

Crystal Structure of Ti(tben)The complexes of N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis(2-hydroxybenzyl)-ethylenediamine with titanium(IV), vanadium(IV), manganese(IV), and tin(IV) were synthesized and characterized by mass spectrometry. The Mössbauer date were evaluated for the tin compound. The molecular structure of the titanium(IV) complex was determined by X-ray structural analysis, crystallographic data see “Inhaltsübersicht”.

Für die Zinn-Verbindung wurden die Mössbauer-Daten ermittelt. Die Molekülstruktur des Titan(IV)-Komplexes wurde röntgenstrukturanalytisch bestimmt.     Description / Table of Contents: Manganese(IV) Complexes with Tridentate Diacidic Ligands. Crystal Structure of Acetyl-acetonato-salicylaldehydebenzoylhydrazonato(2-)-methanol-manganese(III)The manganese(IV) chelates of salicylaldehyde benzoylhydrazone and salicylaldehyde salicylhydrazone were synthesized by ligand exchange reactions using bis(acetylacetonato)manganese(II), tris(acetylacetonato)manganese(III) as well as manganese(III) acetate. The brown complexes show the expected molecular ions in the APCI mass spectra. As an intermediate compound acetyacetonato-salicylaldehydebenzoylhydrazonato(2-)-methanol-manganese(III) was isolated and characterized by X-ray structural analysis. Crystallographic data see “Inhaltsübersicht”.
    Notes: Durch Ligandenaustauschreaktion von Bis(acetylacetonato)mangan(II) und Tris(acetylacetonato)mangan(III) bzw. Mangan(III)-acetat mit Salicylaldehydbenzoylhydrazon und -salicylhydrazon wurden die Mangan(IV)-Chelate dieser Liganden dargestellt. Die braunen Verbindungen zeigen im APCI-positiv Massenspektrum die erwarteten Molekülionen. Für das Zwischenprodukt Acetylacetonato-salicylaldehydbenzoylhydrazonato(2-)-methanol-mangan(III) wurde die Kristall- und Molekülstruktur bestimmt: Gitterabmessungen bei 293 K; a = 754,3(2) pm, b = 1 027,3(6) pm, c = 1 357,4(5) pm, α = 79,64(4)°, β = 76,51(3)°, γ = 70,45(4)°, Raumgruppe P1 (Nr. 2), Z = 2, 3297 unabhängige Reflexe, R = 3,84%.

Molecular Structure of Bis[2.2′-dihydroxy-azobenzenato(2-)]vanadium(IV)By the reaction of tris(acetylacetonato)vanadium(III) with tridentate diacidic ligands non-oxo vanadium(IV) complexes of these ligands were synthesized. The complexes were characterized by mass spectrometry. Electrochemical studies show that the complexes are reversibly oxidized or reduced. Bis[2,2′-dihydroxy-azobenzenato(2-)]vanadium(IV) has a distorted trigonal-prismatic structure. Crystallographic data see „Inhaltsübersicht“.
    Notes: Durch Reaktion von Tris(acetylacetonato)-vanadium(III) mit dreizähnigen diaciden Liganden wurden oxofreie Vanadium(IV)-Komplexe dieser Liganden dargestellt. Die Komplexe wurden massenspektrometrisch charakterisiert. Sie können elektrochemisch reversibel oxidiert und reduziert werden. Bis[2,2′-dihydroxy-azobenzenato(2-)]vanadium(IV) besitzt eine verzerrt trigonal-prismatische Struktur. Raumgruppe P21/n, Z = 4, 1 812 beobachtete unabhängige Reflexe, R = 5,9%. Gitterabmessungen bei 19°C; a = 9,973(2) pm, b = 15,435(3) pm, c = 13,763(3) pm, β = 104,79(3)°.
