Investigations of Carbenes, XIV. Stereochemistry of rhe Insertion Reaction of Carbenes with C - H-BondsDichlorocarbene reacts with optically active 2-phenylbutane (1) to form inactive 2-dichloromethyl-2-phenylbutane (2). The isotope effect of the reaction is kH/kD = 1.8. Methylene reacts with the HCOCOCH3 group in trans-cyclopentane-1,2-diol-diacetat (3) with inversion.

Dichlorcarben reagiert mit optisch aktivem 2-Phenyl-butan (1) zu inaktivem 2-Dichlormethyl-2-phenyl-butan (2). Der Isotopie-Effekt der Reaktion beträgt kH/kD = 1.8. Methylen setzt sich mit der HCOCOCH3-Gruppe im trans-Cyclopentandiol-(1.2)-diacetat (3) unter Inversion um.
