Zusammenfassung Nachsorge und Rehabilitation der Tumorkranken setzt eine bestmögliche Integration von medizinischen, psychosozialen und anderen rehabilitativen Maßnahmen voraus. Tumorzentren bieten dafür die besten Voraussetzungen. Der ≫Onkologische Arbeitskreis≪ nimmt dabei, zusammen mit dem Klinischen Krebsregister eine zentrale Stellung ein. Ein konsequentes Nachsorgeverfahren ist notwendig, wobei Primärbehandlung und Nachsorge fließend ineinander übergehen. Auf dem Gebiet der Rehabilitation liegen noch wenige praktische Erfahrungen vor, so daß die Tumorzentren auch auf diesem Sektor eine Schrittmacherfunktion auszuüben haben.

Summary The follow-up system and the rehabilitation of cancer patients presume optimal integration of medical, psychological and other rehabilitative measures. Cancer centers offer the best conditions. The “Onkologischer Arbeitskreis” together with the hospital-based cancer registry provides the central position. Every cancer patient should be included in a consistent follow-up system. In the field of rehabilitation a lack of scientific information is still present, so cancer centers have to perform a pacemaker function also in this field.
