Notizen:
Solubility of monomer in the polymer was strongly affected by ionic strength; with increasing ionic strength, solubility was found to increase. At constant temperature, this was entirely due to the decrease in interfacial tension, as the condensation of surfactant proceeded at the interface. The temperature affected both the polymer-solvent interaction parameter as well as the interfacial tension. These are the two parameters on which solubility depends. The variations of interfacial tension with temperature was found to be complex, but entirely dependent on the entropic consideration of adsorption. The polymer-solvent interaction parameter-inverse temperature dependence was found to be linear, as expected.
