Eine neue Methode zur Bestimmung der chemischen Zusammensetzung von Poly(ethylenterephthalat-co-p-oxybenzoat) wird beschrieben. Das Verfahren beruht auf dem Säureaufschluß der Polyesterprobe miit nachfolgender Trennung der Terephthal- und p-Hydroxybenzoesäure auf Grund ihrer unterschiedlichen Löslichkeit. Die beiden Säuren werden UV-spektroskopisch bestimmt.

A new analytical method for the determination of the chemical composition of poly(ethylene terephthalate-co-p-oxybenzoate) is described. The method is based on a acid hydrolysis of the polyester sample, subsequent separation of terephthalic and p-hydroxybenzoic acids of different solubility, and UV spectrophotometric determination of both acids.
