Als empfindliche und einfache Methode zur Bestimmung von Polyacrylsäure, Polyacrylamid und der entsprechenden Copolymere erweist sich die Unterdrückung des polarographischen Sauerstoffmaximums bei Anwesenheit von Ca2+- Ionen in der Meßlösung. Der Polymergesamtgehalt von Mischungen der genannten Polymere mit ähnlicher Molekülmasse ist im Konzentrationsbereich von 10 bis 80 mg l-1 möglich. Störungen des Bestimmungsverfahrens, dessen relative Standardabweichung 4,2% beträgt, werden aufgezeigt.

The suppression of the polarographic oxygen maximum was found to be a sensitive and simple method for the determination of poly(acrylic acid), poly(acrylamide) and the corresponding copolymers if the solution contains Ca2+ ions. In mixtures of these polymers with molecular weights of the same range the total polymer content can be determined at concentrations between 10 and 80 mg l-1 Interferences of the method, the relative standard deviation of which was found to be 4.2%, are shown.
