Abstract An original nephelometric method allows one to measure initial platelet aggregation after a long-term storage of platelet concentrate. This attests to a high level of platelet activity despite the fact that final platelet aggregation cannot be detected by usual turbidimetric method. N-chloroalanine more slowly inhibits initial platelet aggregation in comparison with sodium hypochlorite, which implies different mechanisms of their membrane-modifying effects.
