Notizen: Summary A patient with the diagnosis of enchondromatosis (Ollier's disease) presented with seizures. CT examination showed an avascular right frontal lobe lesion. Surgery revealed a histologically verified grade II astrocytoma. This case is consistent with recent evidence that questions the distinction between the two forms of enchondromatosis (Ollier's disease and Maffucci's syndrome). Maffucci's syndrome is associated with a high rate of malignancy, including intracranial gliomas. Olliver's disease has not been associated with malignant change, other than sarcomatous transformation of the enchondromas. However, Ollier's disease and Maffucci's syndrome may be a spectrum of the same disease process, and therefore patients with diagnosed Ollier's disease are at a higher risk for malignancy than has been previously recognized.

Notizen: The treatment of finite hyperelasticity set on the spatial configuration is described. The fully consistent linearization of the corresponding field equations is carried out in detail. It provides the basis of the exact Newton-Raphson procedure for solution of the associated boundary value problem. A membrane formulation is presented in which the incompressibility constraint usually employed in the description of rubber-like materials is satisfied trivially. The excellent performance of the proposed framework is demonstrated by means of 3-D membrane finite element simulations.

Notizen: This paper presents a consistent algorithm, which combines the advantages of the exact time integration of Prandtl-Reuss elastoplastic models and the quadratic asymptotic convergence of Newton-Raphson iteration strategies. The consistent modulus is evaluated by a full linearization of the exact stress update procedure. Numerical tests for a thin wall tube subjected to combined loads of tension and torsion are performed to illustrate the accuracy and efficiency of the consistently linearized exact stress update algorithm described in the paper. For comparison purpose numerical results of the radial return method are also given.
