Notizen: Abstract The different correspondences (or orderings) used in quantum mechanics and the associated deformations, are both seen from an algebraic viewpoint. The deformations which are compatible with the diagonal map (the ‘Δ0-deformations’) are introduced and connected to the formal groups. A very straighforward example of a Δ0-deformation (the ‘multiplicative deformation’) appears in the normal quantization of the harmonic oscillator.

Notizen: Abstract A t(16;21)(q24;q22) translocation was detected by fluorescence in situ hybridization in a patient with acute myeloblastic leukemia previously treated for malignant lymphoma. While the breakpoint on chromosome 21 was within the AML1 gene as determined by FISH, the gene partner on chromosome 16 could not be identified. Band 16q24 appears to be rearranged in several types of myeloid proliferation and a review of the literature shows that these rearrangements most often occur in secondary leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome or are part of complex chromosomal rearrangements.

Notizen: In Part I a detailed derivation of a more general shallow water equation set was developed via a perturbation analysis. A finite element computational model of these more general equations is now constructed and the model behavior is compared with conventional shallow water formulations applied to an outletworks flume. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Notizen: The standard two-dimensional shallow water equation formulation assumes a mild bed slope and no curvature effect. These assumptions limit the applicability of these equations for some important classes of problems. In particular, flow over a spillway is affected by the bed curvature via a decidedly non-hydrostatic pressure distribution. A detailed derivation of a more general equation set is given here in Part I. The method relies upon a perturbation expansion to simplify a bed-fitted co-ordinate configuration of the three-dimensional Euler equations. The resulting equations are essentially the equivalent of the two-dimensional shallow water equations but with curvature included and without the mild slope assumption. A finite element analysis and flume result are given in Part II. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
