Notes: Abstract: Elastic scattering and inclusive breakup of 6Li particles on 12C, 58Ni, 90Zr, and 208Pb targets are measured at 100A MeV. The elastic scattering data are compared with single channel and Coupled Discretized Continuum Channels calculations. The coupling-effect between the elastic and the breakup channels is important even at an incident energy of 100A MeV and cannot be neglected. The inclusive breakup data are investigated for orbital dispersion effects which are found to be less significant at 100A MeV. The longitudinal momentum distributions are broader than predicted by theoretical expectations.

Notes: Abstract A radioanalytical procedure has been developed for the determination of99Tc in environmental samples. The procedure consists of precipitation, solvent extraction, ion exchange, electrodeposition and radiation measurement. Rhenium was used as a non-isotopic carrier of99Tc. On the basis of 3σ counting error, the detection limits were 4.9·10−5 Bq/l, 7.4·10−3 Bq/kg wet and 7.4·10−2 Bq/kg dry for water, biota and soil samples, respectively. Sea water, seaweeds (brown algae) and soils were collected to evaluate the present levels of99Tc in Japan. The level of99Tc in sea water was ca. 1·10−4 Bq/l around Japan. Among the seaweeds (brown algae), Ishige okamurai showed the highest concentration of 5.8·10−2 Bq/kg wet tissue and the highest concentration factor of 583. The level of99Tc in the organic rich surface soil was ca. 1 Bq/kg dry soil in Fukuoka.

Notes: Abstract A portable apparatus was developed for the rapid collection, separation and counting of krypton-85 in the environmental air samples. The apparatus consists of a molecular sieve trap for the elimination of H2O and CO2, a charcoal trap for the collection of krypton, a chromatographic column for the isolation of krypton in the air sample and a vial for the dissolution of krypton in the scintillation solution. With this apparatus, krypton can be collected from half a cubic meter of air with 94% recovery in about 3 hrs. The measurements of krypton-85 have been done several times in Fukuoka area between the periods Jan. 30, 1981 and Dec. 9, 1981. And then, the krypton-85 concentration was found to be approximately 21 pCi/m3 air. The results were compared with those obtained by foregin investigators.
