Description / Table of Contents:
New Ni(II) chelates with N—R substituted β-ketoaldimines are described (R = see above). The magnetical and spektrophotometrical behaviour of these compounds is compared with the behaviour of corresponding chelates of N-substituted salicylaldimes. The strength of the ligand field of β-ketoaldimines and salicylaldimines decreases - depending on R - in the same way. The chelates of monoamine derivatives, which are diamagnetic in the solid state, exhibit a distinct tendency to stabilize the triplet state in coordinating solvents by formation of octahedral adducts. Paramagnetical di- resp. tetraadducts with pyridine could be isolated as solids. On the other hand, the chelates of β-ketoaldimines are liable to associate less than the analogoues chelates of salicylaldimines.
Notes:
Tetraaddukte in Substanz isoliert.
