Conclusions 1. When cooling a block with plan dimensions L≤15 m, by 25°C in relation to the base block, the tensile stresses in the contact zone will not exceed the maximum permissible values. 2. The temperature regime of blocks, poured on a cold base, should be designated by taking into account the temperature condition of the 0.2–0.3L thick base layer. Classification of concrete bases, as used in practice, by their age: “fresh”—to one month, and “old”—over one month, is considered as an entirely inadequate characteristic of the base temperature condition. 3. In case of interruption of pouring two adjacent blocks up to three months, it is proper to limit the value of exothermic heating depending on the age of the base block. If the interruption lasts more than three months, the values of maximum temperatures can be limited for various periods of the year depending on the temperature of the base.
