L'entità del consumo d'ossigeno e della produzione di C14O2 da glucosio-1-C14 e glucosio-6-C14e la loro differente sensibilità all'amital nei leucociti polinucleati di essudato incubati in diverse condizioni dimostrano l'esistenza di più sistemi di riossidazione dei coenzimi ridotti.
