Desmosomal abnormalities in the liver of methotrexate-treated psoriatics

Summary

Electron microscopy of the liver of methotrexate-treated psoriatic patients revealed junctional abnormalities consisting of detachment of desmosomal plaques between hepatocytes. Mitochondria anchoring desmosomal microfilaments were frequently noted.
