Abstract
The transformation of charged-particle-bunch emittance in a nonuniform magnetic field with a constant gradient is studied. A modification of the Kapchinskii model is employed to solve the self-consistent problem with allowance for the self-charge, which allows space-finite bunches to be considered as triaxial ellipsoids. The results of numerical calculations describe the bunch dynamics in the phase space and can be used to create specific acceleration systems.
