Abstract
A study was made of the effect of a magnetic field on the restoration of internal friction in polycrystalline nickel after brief plastic torsional deformation. The experimental results can be explained in terms of a redistribution of the ferromagnetic and nonferromagnetic internal-friction components in the magnetic field and in terms of a relaxation of the elastic stress which accompanies the inhomogeneous plastic deformation during the restoration of the domain structure.
