Soviet Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

An equation is derived that gives the evolution in the radiation intensity of a laser using free-free transitions in the case of scattering of a relativistic beam of electrons by a spatially periodic magnetic field. The first two perturbation orders are considered. Expressions are obtained for the linear gain and the saturation coefficient. The results are analyzed numerically.
