The Auto-Reduction of Hexavalent 239Pu in Acid Solution

Abstract

Historical measurements on the alpha-particle reduction of hexavalent 239Pu can be interpreted as a succession of near-equilibrium steps. The phenomenon can be simulated by plotting the distribution of the oxidation states for decreasing values of the Pu oxidation number.
