Effect of peptide Lys-Glu on interleukin-2 gene expression in lymphocytes

Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine Aims and scope

Abstract

Lys-Gluin vitro stimulated interleukin-2 gene expression in mouse spleen lymphocytes. This effect depended on peptide concentration, and duration of treatment. It is hypothesized that this peptide is the shortest regulatory fragment promoting the transport of trans-acting factors into the nucleus. It can not be excluded that Lys-Glu is a structural component of transacting factor active centers, which are necessary for the activation of interleukin-2 gene transcription in lymphocytes.
