Nonstationary nonlinear phenomena in optical slab-waveguides. II. Pulse shaping by a nonlinear overlay

Abstract

Pulse shaping of TE-polarized slab-guided Gaussian pulses, in resonance with two-level systems which form a nonlinear overlay, is considered. Pulse shortening for various incident pulse energies and different propagation length is investigated in detail numerically.
