Zusammenfassung
W183m was produced by the reaction W182 (n, γ)W183m. The half life has been remeasured yielding a value of (5sd1±0·2) sec. With the aid of scintillation spectrometers fourγ-lines could be detected: two lines at about 100 keV, one at (161±3) keV and one at (211±4) keV.
A new technique was used to obtain the energy of the isomeric state. The total transition energy of this state was measured by summing up all possible cascade transitions ofγ-rays and conversion electrons with a source between two halves of a CsJ crystal.
The results are compared with the level scheme of W183 as measured byMurray et al. in theβ-decay of Ta183. A decay scheme of W183m is presented with the isomeric state at (310±4) keV and three known lower energy levels of W183 at 207keV, 99 keV and 46 keV. The main branch of the isomeric decay leads to the 207 keV-level most probably by an M2 transition.
