Summary

An enzyme reaction in human platelets is demonstrated which possesses the properties of protein-phosphokinases isolated from other cells: phosphorylation of basic proteins in phosphoserine and -threonine linkages, magnesium dependency and stimulation by adenosine 3′,5′-monophosphate. It is suggested that this enzyme might be responsible for the expression of the cAMP effects on the platelets.
