Conclusion
The described HPLC method is rapid, easy to perform, and permits a reliable measurement of low MTX concentrations without time consuming extraction procedures. With respect to the possible cross-reaction of 7-OH MTX in FPIA, HPLC currently appears to be the method of choice for determination of late MTX serum levels after HDMTX infusions.
