Nach Implantation von Gentamycin-PMMA-Kugeln bei Patienten mit Knochenund Weichteilinfektionen wurden die Gentamycin-Konzentrationen im Serum, Urin und Wundsekret bestimmt. Die Freisetzung von Gentamycin in hohen Konzentrationen erlaubt eine sehr wirksame lokalantibiotische Behandlung bei chronischer Osteomyelitis, infizierten Pseudarthrosen, infizierten Osteosynthesen, subphrenischen AbsceBen und anderen Weichteilinfektionen. Radikale Entfernung aller Nekrosen und Fremdkörper vor Implantation der Gentamycin-PMMA-Kugeln ist unerläBlich.
