Summary.
There is early metastasis of the small cell bronchial carcinoma, and until now it has not been treated surgically. However, chemo- and radiotherapy are concerned in decreasing tumor size by surgery. This type of tumor was diagnosed in 94 patients; in 24 of these cases the primary tumor was removed. In all cases further therapy was based on ACO and irradiation (Seeber). The mean survival time of the operated patients was 12.0 months, for the inoperable ones 8.7 months. Thus, after resection, chemo- and radiotherapy, there is a comparatively favorable prognosis for the small cell bronchial carcinoma.
