Summary

Albumin extracted from the plasma of 20 out of 21 Indian diabetic patients was antagonistic to insulin when tested at 1.25 %; the plasma albumina from 5 out of 29 (17.2 %) healthy volunteers also showed insulin antagonism when tested at this concentration. These studies in Northern India are not dissimilar from those previously reported from the Western hemisphere.
