Summary
The method which has been worked out enables small amounts of chloride or chloride-containing deposits on metal surfaces to be detected and determined semiquantitatively. The method is based on bleaching of the Hg(II)-DPC complex by chloride, which allows 0.2μg amounts of chloride to be demonstrated at individual points on the surface.
