Summary
Two chromatographic systems are described to separate and estimate the three major components of the macrolide antibiotic spiramycin. The first system uses a C 18 reversed-phase column with acetonitrile-water-diethyl-amine (50:49.95:0.05) eluent, the second uses a microparticulate silica gel column with a mobile phase composed of the lower layer of a mixture of dichloromethane and n-propanol (96–4) saturated with 5% diethylamine in water.
