Summary
The dependence of band spreading on the development time and the applied quantity was measured. The width at half height of the chromatographic peaks obtained after 10, 20, 30 and 40 minutes development were measured. It is shown that the dependence of band spreading on time follows a square function. On the other hand, band spreading was found to be related to the logarithm of the square root of the applied quantity.
