A study of energy conversion in the wave number domain

Abstract

Energy conversions from potential to kinetic energy have been studied for a part of the Northern Hemisphere in the wave number domain. The vertical distribution of energy conversions were examined and the results have been compared with the other's observational results as well as that of forecast models.
