Nitrocarboxy derivatives of cellulose

Summary

  1. 1.

    New nitrocarboxy derivatives of cellulose containing 21–25% of carboxyl groups and 2–6% of nitrogen have been obtained.

  2. 2.

    Oxides of nitrogen oxidize the CH2OH groups in the open rings of the modified cellulose to COOH groups.
