Summary
The high resolution 13C NMR spectrum of Kapton in sulfuric acid solution is reported. Assignments to the spectrum were made by comparison with non-proton-decoupled spectra, and with improved solid-state spectra. The solid-state spectrum of the reprecipitate from a H2SO4 solution showed that no change in the chemical structure of Kapton occurred during dissolution, but that the regular morphology present in the original film had been disrupted.
