Zusammenfassung

Der Nasziturus wird durch den Nikotinabusus der Mutter offenbar weit stärker in Mitleidenschaft gezogen, als dies bisher angenommen wurde: Seine Hb-CO-Spiegel liegen über jenen der Mutter. Möglicherweise ist die Plazenta ein Reservoir für Hb-CO. Das Verhalten der Retikulozyten und des Erythropoetin-Spiegels weist auf eine chronische Sauerstoffmangelsituation hin.
