Summary
The experimental model of the anephric, daily hemodialyzed conscious dog with exclusive parenteral nutrition was realized by means of a closed batch hemodialysis system (Rhodial 75) and a highly permeable polyacrylonitrile membrane (RP 6 dialyzer). Technical details, parenteral feeding, hemodialysis, and amino acid solutions preparation were described to realize a stable condition of the animals for further metabolic analyses during the early anephric period.
